Powerslide Penguin, (sold separately for iPad, $1.99,) by Chillingo slides its way in as a fun and relaxing casual physics game that will help gamers think cool thoughts during the summer heat.
The game, developed by Cobra Mobile, will appeal to Angry Birds and Ragdoll Blaster 2 fans since the basic premise of ready, aim, fire – but logically – is at the heart of this game too.
Gamers play as Penn Gwynn, a fearless little sliding penguin and help on his quest to recover all the loot that the diabolical Pengros, the Peg Leg Penguin has stolen from the Chilly City Bank . This won’t be easy as Pengros has scattered it throughout 79 levels.
The games visuals are clear, bright and the winter wonderland looks positively refreshing when the temperature outside hovers at 100 degrees. The levels are well designed, and will challenge players to get as much loot as they can on each before exiting the level through the portal gem to the next. There are the usual three stars to earn per level, which are time sensitive. Player get nine slides to complete each one.
Aim Penn Gyunn by touching directly behind him. The power of the slide is determined by how far the player pulls back.
Bank shots are necessary to avoid obstacles like snowmen or dancing bears and other cute nemeses, and you can get to tight spots by redirecting him mid-slide adding a lot of action into what is otherwise a casual physics game. Fans of Pro Pool Online 3 or Mini Touch Golf will find the mechanics easy to pick up. The is a game about angles and force.

Powerslide Penguin is the best casual game from Chillingo, who seems to churning out as many as three titles a week while planning major updates to favorites like Cut the Rope, in a while.
This is the kind of game they do best – it’s not a new concept, but it has a fresh face, it’s a pick-up-and-play game with addiction potential, and it’s wrapped in wintry cute. Grab it and beat the heat with this cool new game.

I know I shouldnt complain but with the US heat wave we are getting cooler weather than normal here and record rains! Having said that, the penguin game looks adorable!

Good thing I got around to checking Twitter, or I might have missed this contest! I’m a huge fan of Chillingo, so I’d love to be able to add this to my collection. Besides, who doesn’t love penguins?
