Burn the Rope: Worlds (iPhone only), by Big Blue Bubble is the accelerometer-powered sequel to the hit game Burn the Rope. The pyro-powered fun is back and packed with 100 new levels and a whole slew of interesting modes and puzzles to conquer. This blazing sequel is a sure to be a hit with pyromaniacs and puzzle gamers everywhere.
Burn the Rope: Worlds is a physics puzzler that utilizes the iPhone’s accelerometer. Players are presented with an artistic tangle of ropes in each level. Strategy is an essential part of gameplay because as in real life, fire can only move up. Players must decide where to start a fire on the ropes in order to burn the highest percentage or the twine structure possible. Once players touch a portion of the rope, they must tilt their iDevice so the flame continues to burn upward.
As the levels progress, the rope-art becomes more intricate and interesting. Colored rope is soon introduced and, to add to the puzzle, players must change the color of the flame by contacting a bug of the desired color, before burning similarly colored rope. Though the puzzles start out simple, things quickly progress and become quite challenging.
What is it about fire that is so mesmerizing? There are few things as relaxing as watching a flickering candle – a phenomenon which can be difficult to emulate with cgi. Thankfully, this sequel, like the original does a fine job capturing the beauty of the flame and adds plenty of new elements coming throughout so players stay engaged and challenged.
Gamers who love physics puzzlers will get their money’s worth with Burn the Rope: Worlds. The graphics shine, gameplay is on fire and there are four new worlds of blazing ropes to conquer. Hopefully we’ll see an HD iPad version in the near future.
