Dr. Seuss Band (universal) by Oceanhouse Media is a musical app that’s bound to entertain children of all ages with its whimsical music and gameplay. 

Dr. Seuss’ books are filled with whimsy, which translate effortlessly to iOS. This is also true of Dr. Seuss Band. Any iOS device is instantly transformed into a vibrant, energetic musical instrument. 

The premise of Dr. Seuss Band is very similar to the play of Rock Band, The only differences are the music that’s played. Instead of jamming out to Aerosmith, children will be tapping to the Seussical delights found within this app. Instead of a guitar, the instrument du jour is a Seusstastical horn. 

Children can customize the horn by swiping down or up on an element of the horn.  Swiping left or right changes the tone of the music that’s played from low to medium to high. 

Choosing between the Music Game or Free Play gives children choices on how to use the app. In Music Game mode, children can earn high scores and unlock-able elements  by tapping and holding the corresponding color along with the music. There are also three difficulty levels in Music Game mode. 

In Free Play mode, it’s just what would be expected – free play. Simply tap the notes and compose an original song.  It’s up to the imagination in this mode. 

What is so great about Dr. Seuss Band  is that it makes music fun. By employing the whimsical theme of Dr. Seuss in an app that tests a child’s visual motor skills, Oceanhouse Media has created a fun, engaging, and jovial app that is sure to delight both children and parents. 

Dr. Seuss Band does have in-app purchases available. What’s good for parents is that there is a setting that turns this feature off to avert any unwarranted purchases.  

Overall, Dr. Seuss Band is an extremely fun, delightfully charming app that is sure to keep children entertained and engaged. It’s just what would be expected from the Dr. Seuss family of apps.
