Car Toons! (also in HD for iPad) by FDG Entertainment is an epic game of bumper cars, with players smashing criminals out of sight using the powers of physics. Don’t worry about doing damage to your wheels, though – these vehicles aren’t afraid to mess up their exterior with a few dents and scrapes when it comes to serving justice.

Depending on the level, users drive a fire truck, police car, or ambulance to knock evil black vehicles over the edge. The finger is the gas pedal – simple taps to go, stop, and do special maneuvers like jumping in the air. Unlock levels, earn points and win achievements by getting rid of the crooks, parking all cars, and beating the time limit.

Some levels are extremely tough, but hintful hero-meets-nemesis conversation between the cars in the beginning of every level is not only hilarious, but crucial to solving the puzzle, so pay attention – especially when the baddie starts singing the Barbie Girl song by Aqua in level 50.

The game has amusing sound effects and HD graphics, with an artistic cartoon style and a nice variety of background scenery throughout the collection of levels. It also has a rocking soundtrack straight out to 80’s that will make players feel like a mustachioed detectives right out of Miami Vice.

If ther’s one gripe with Car Toons!, it’s the refuelling page in between each play – it just feels unnecessary. Perhaps a loading icon could replace it or have the levels skip right to the next instead of passing through this extraneous speed would help keep the game flowing better from stage to stage.

Car Toons! is a fun and enjoyable game for all ages that will get the brain some exercise. Now, if real vehicles all had eye balls – then we might not have any other choice but to think outside the box.
