The blog management app Posts (iPad only) by Pico is every WordPress and Blogger user’s dream come true. The app automatically syncs up all blogs to keep them updated and organized by date in an elegant user interface. But what makes it a match in heaven for bloggers are features like the ability to create posts offline.
That can’t be understated: I loved that this app allows the user to work on blog posts offline, letting the creation flow without the worry of losing internet connection. Let’s face it, sometimes there are instances where there is no WiFi or the service is just terrible. But this time, it won’t put a halt in the process of blogging. I found that this app has everything I need and more to blog with, making the blog server hosts’ own free apps look puny and minuscule in comparison.
Users can view all their posts quickly with just a single glance due to the app’s amazing vertical column – scroll layout, which is also great for browsing through them effortlessly. Multiple blog posts can be immediately written, edited, previewed, drafted, linked, formatted and published working with rich text or html. Besides that, post comments can also be instantly viewed, approved and replied to keep the conversation going.
Yet, there are unfortunately still a few actions that can’t be done with this app that can be done when using the actual blog server host, such as the ability to schedule publishing, naming files, and page customization without the hassle of html.
With that, I was saddened to see that only WordPress and Blogger sites are supported. I’d like to see more popular blog sites such as Tumblr, Xanga, Posterous, and Weebly also be able to sync up using this app.
Posts is great for bloggers who are fans of WordPress and Blogger who want a more convenient, quick way to generate self published online content without the worry of always having to be connected to the internet. This app is a powerful writing tool with an extremely friendly UI that can turn any blogger’s post dreams into a published reality.
